Pure Color and Science features the medical illustrations and scientific visual communication of Karen Vanderpool-Haerle. Karen received her Master of Art in Medical Illustration from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She has been a member of the Association of Medical Illustrators since 1997. She has a strong background in both art and science. Prior to attending graduate school, she earned her certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant while working for a large group of pathologists. Karen is a skilled visual communicator, illustrator, artist and scientist with many years of experience in health care. She continues to study emerging technologies in virtual reality and augmented reality for communication, design and education while staying current with the latest developments in science.
